Opera, the intricate table
Opera is a family of products that includes tables of different sizes – oval, round, square; low or high – and seats, also suitable for outdoor use. The pieces share an original “hull” design obtained with multiple interlocks of arched ribs cut in solid wood, for an immediately recognizable image. The warmth and essence of wood are combined in a surprising new aesthetic symbiosis with transparent materials. The tables support tops in tempered glass, while a transparent single shell in thermoformed methacrylate clads the chairs. The structure utilized for the entire series is in solid oak with a wax-effect finish.
Opera thus offers a series characterized by a distinctive, forceful image, a motif of crossed ribbing of remarkable and timeless elegance. These two characteristics are part of Mario Bellini’s practice, and go well with the search for refined multiplicity of styles of Meritalia®.
