Crease is the result of almost archetypal, classic models, as if the "reverse" side of the lining concealed every peculiarity. But what truly distinguishes it - and makes Toogood's signature evident - is the very importance of the upholstery, which serves as a starting point, even before the structure itself. All the components of Crease are made by hands that seem to have folded the paper to cover the "structure." It is the “fold” lines, intentionally imperfect, that create soft, playful, and sculptural forms.
