Newcastle, the sofa - fortress

Constantly reinventing itself and designing unpredictable objects is part of Meritalia®'s DNA. Stasis and dynamism are two opposing forces coming together in Newcastle: a monolithic sofa able to welcome, protect, and make everyone feel at home. The design embodies the sense of cosy safety traditionally associated with the domestic interior.

The sofa is clad in dark leather with a sophisticated creased look, a durable material that changes and evolves in time which evokes the aspect of stone, down to its natural irregularities.
Newcastle, the sofa - fortress

This premium upholstery petrifies the reassuring volumes of the sofa into solid monoliths, expertly assembled together like castle masonry. With Newcastle, Meritalia® establishes a radical encounter of two eras: the aesthetic qualities of mediaeval architecture meet modernist volumes, geometries and materials, generating a comfortable and functional piece of brutalist furniture.
