Laurids Gallée

Laurids Gallée is an Austrian designer based in Rotterdam. Throughout his bold artistic journey, he focuses on creating unique and distinctive pieces. His creative process is marked by a recurring playfulness that reveals the artistic depth behind each work and prioritizes material over functionality. By blending craftsmanship with contemporary production techniques, the designer bridges traditional and modern processes. Born in Vienna in 1989, Gallée studied at the Design Academy Eindhoven, where he developed a highly decorative visual language and a distinctive sensitivity to materials. After various creative collaborations, he founded his own studio in Rotterdam in 2020. He works primarily with resin and translucent materials, crafting luminous, sculptural objects that merge references to European folklore, baroque ornamentation, and contemporary experimentation. His works, often suspended between art and design, have been exhibited in numerous galleries and international design fairs.
