Biography

Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni were a duo of Italian designers and architects, known for their innovative approach and the search for innovative forms, materials and techniques. They were particularly influenced by the collaboration between architecture and design. The two brothers both graduated at the Politecnico di Milano in the faculty of architecture and have collaborated since 1940, focusing on the experimentation of industrial design and creating projects that shaped the history of Italian design. Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni have developed an approach that can be called "integral design", which considers all aspects of a product from its conception, form to production technologies.
